American study: pills do not cause depression
Many women are concerned about the abuse of hormonal contraceptive pills because they raise the risk of depression, but a recent scientific study supervised by US researchers has denied the relationship of birth control pills to women's mental health.
According to the website of Daily Mail, the lead author of the study, Dr. Britt Werley of the Ohio State University, explained that depression is a concern for many women when they start taking hormonal contraceptives.
It is known that most women have tried to use at least one contraceptive method in their lives, and in the United States, approximately 37% of women currently use birth control methods.
The researchers stressed that the biggest misconceptions among women is that birth control methods lead to depression, pointing out that the social media caused the spread of rumors.
"We are living in an age of media savvy," said Dr. Werley. "If one woman or a few people are depressed by contraception and spread through Facebook or gout, the fear spreads in the hearts of many women."
